Africa Social Impact Network Unveils International Advisory Board to Advance Collaborative Action Across Africa
The Africa Social Impact Network (ASIN) has announced the constitution of its International Advisory Board, bringing together distinguished African leaders with experience spanning economic development, investment, development finance, private-sector leadership, policy, innovation and social impact.
The establishment of the International Advisory Board marks an important milestone in the development of ASIN as a pan-African platform designed to strengthen collaboration among governments, businesses, development institutions, investors, philanthropies, civil society and academia.
Building on the ecosystem developed through the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS), ASIN will provide a year-round platform for institutions to remain connected, develop partnerships, exchange knowledge, mobilise resources and collaborate around shared development priorities.
International Advisory Board
The Board is chaired by Prof. Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, with Dr. Charles Leyeka Lufumpa serving as Vice Chair.
Other members are Janvier Litse, Dr. Adam Elhiraika, Abubakar Suleiman, Martine Dennis, and Olapeju Ibekwe, who serves as Secretary.
The International Advisory Board will provide strategic guidance and high-level advocacy as ASIN develops its institutional partnerships, strategic agenda and continental reach.
From Convening to Collaboration
ASIN builds on an important lesson from the continued growth of the Africa Social Impact Summit that: while convenings can create relationships, generate ideas and catalyse commitments, sustained mechanisms are required to maintain momentum and translate connections into action.
ASIN has therefore been designed to complement ASIS by providing an ongoing platform for engagement.
ASIS convenes. ASIN connects, sustains and activates.
Through the Network, ASIN will seek to strengthen connections between policy, capital, expertise, innovation and implementation and support collaborative approaches to Africa's development priorities.
Looking Ahead
Following the announcement of the International Advisory Board, ASIN will commence structured engagement with governments, private-sector organisations, development institutions, philanthropies, investors, civil society and other stakeholders. The Network will also begin developing its strategic agenda, thematic working groups and partnership pipeline.
